Julie Rubin is a senior member of Gladstone Michel's Manufactured Housing Group, focusing her practice on the legal needs of manufactured housing owners, managers and management companies. Julie also handles business litigation, employment, and commercial litigation matters.
Since 1989, Julie has represented hundreds of manufactured housing industry clients in high-stakes multi-party disputes, involving failure to maintain litigation, rent control, evictions, discrimination, unfair competition, and other manufactured housing claims. Julie also provides strategic advice on contracts, acquisitions, financing, lease and land-use issues, insurance claims, and employment matters. She regularly represents clients in mediations and arbitrations and before state and local regulatory agencies in connection with rent control and land use issues. She also advises clients on their day-to-day operations, including how to avoid potential liability and how to comply with the myriad of state and local laws that impact manufactured housing communities.
In 2007, Julie was selected as the California Mobilehome Parkowners Alliance's Advocacy Fighter of the Year in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the manufactured housing. In 2006, she was part of a team of Berger Kahn lawyers that was asked to file an amicus brief before the California Supreme Court on behalf of CMPA.
Julie is frequently invited to speak at industry seminars, including Western Manufactured Housing Communities Association, California Mobilehome Parkowners Alliance, and Manufactured Housing Educational Trust, where she has lectured on new laws impacting mobilehome community owners, failure to maintain issues, breach of contract, and related topics.
