Hugh MacDonald is the firm’s lead paralegal with extensive experience in complex litigation, discovery and case management. He supports the firm’s litigators as well as our transactional attorneys.

Hugh has almost a decade of experience in complex case management involving large volumes of documents and electronic data. His assistance includes high-level document production and review, electronic discovery, database management, screening and preparing expert witnesses and investigators, fact gathering, and helping attorneys comply with pretrial orders including organization of exhibits and preparation of trial books and binders, as well as appellate joint appendices. He is skilled at using the most recent electronic research applications to locate cases, statutes, and other legal authorities for use by our attorneys, and is proficient with Concordance, Lexis, Bloomberg and several database management systems. He is familiar with all stages of litigation, having been involved in hundreds of cases from initial filing through discovery, trial and appeal.

Hugh's talents have been used to good advantage for the firm's institutional clients in numerous document-intensive complex cases whether in state or federal court, including class actions involving claims of wrongful death, failure to maintain cases in the manufactured housing arena, derivative claims involving directors and officers, professional liability and wrongful termination defense matters, high-stakes actions involving alleged insurance fraud or "bad faith," and many other types of cases.
